The NSFM, AMANS, Fire Marshall’s Office and the Fire Services Association of Nova Scotia are working together to address issues and opportunities in the delivery of fire services across the province.
The work began in 2016, when municipalities and fire services people were consulted on the challenges and priorities. The consultant’s report was presented to the NSFM, AMANS and the Department of Municipal Affairs in 2017. The three parties agreed to address the recommendations of the report, and a committee was struck to develop an action plan. This committee continues to work, and their recommended action plan will be completed in the near future.
