NS Department of Transportation and Active Transit now administering the Connect2 program.

The NS Department of Transportation and Active Transit is excited to announce it is now administering the Connect2 program. We are pleased to announce that the 2021-2022 program is open as of Thursday July 21st, to communities and organizations to submit an Expression of Interest.

 

Funding is available for active transportation projects that will improve connectivity within and between communities and have the potential to reduce emissions.  Funding can be used for community planning, feasibility studies, learning by doing, public engagement sessions, program promotion and demonstration projects.

 

Please note the following important dates and information:

Timeline: We will be accepting and reviewing submissions on an ongoing basis until September 22nd, 2021 (or until all funds have been allocated).  Projects will need to be completed by March 18, 2022.

Funding Formula: Projects are eligible for funding up to 75% of their total project costs, and the remaining matching may be completed through in-kind contributions (max 50% of applicant’s contributions) and other sources.

Process:           Step 1 – Read and Review Program Description 

Step 2 – Submit an Expression of Interest by September 10th, 2021 for review by a Program Coordinator

If the project is eligible, you will be sent a project application form

Step 3 – Receive a Project Application Package 

Step 4 – Submit full Application package by September 22nd, 2021.

 

We will be accepting and reviewing submissions for the 2021-22 fiscal year starting today and on an ongoing basis until September 22nd, 2021 or until all funds have been allocated.
