Lunch & Learn - Advancing DEIA: Tailoring Your Approach to Fit Your Municipality
This Lunch & Learn session explores how municipalities can advance Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) in ways that reflect their unique communities. Led by Shruti Gola Taraschi-Carr, Director of Race Relations, Equity, and Inclusion (secondment, Office of Equity and Race Relations), the session will outline key legal rights and responsibilities under the Nova Scotia Human Rights Act and highlight practical approaches to building on existing DEIA efforts. Participants will gain insight into assessing diversity at the council table and how targeted DEIA training can strengthen confidence when engaging with diverse community voices.
