The Coastal Planning Support Program provides funding for municipalities to hire consultants to support coastal land use planning initiatives.
Consultants may assist municipalities with:
- Navigating and interpreting coastal and climate data to guide safe development and setbacks from the coast
- Facilitating collaboration, information sharing, and resource connections
- Offering decision-making support on risk management
- Supporting public meetings and engagement
- Developing communication materials
- Addressing public concerns and building community support
- Supporting coordinated implementation across municipalities
Funding
Each municipality is eligible for $20,000 in basic funding. Additional funds are available for municipalities collaborating on joint projects.
