Funding for Trails & Clean Fuel
- Details
- Application for Recreational Trail Expansion grant and Off-highway Vehicle Infrastructure Fund is now open.
- Information sessions available.
- Applications for the provincial Clean Fuels Fund have opened. The fund can provide municipalities funding to replace traditional fossil fuels with cleaner fuels for heating, transportation and industrial processes.

Funding for water, wastewater, stormwater and solid waste infrastructure
- Details
- Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund (CHIF) will invest in essential water, wastewater, stormwater and solid waste infrastructure to support the construction of more homes. $1 billion over 8 years, delivered directly to municipalities and other eligible recipients. To access this funding municipalities must commit to key actions that increase the housing supply. Anticipated launch Fall of 2024, website not currently available.

- Atlantic Salmon Conservation funding is now open.
- New Horizons for Seniors Program- Community-Based Projects is now open.
- National Housing Strategy Demonstrations Initiative is now open.
- Clean Fuels Fund has been extended for four years, until 2029-30. Requests for proposals is anticipated by the end of 2024.

The last round of Natural Resources Canada’s Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP) is here with a limited application window. Learn how to access funding at 50% of the total EV project costs (up to $5 million per project)
- EV Chargers must be in Canada, comply with local codes, and be commercially available
- Level 2 AC Chargers (3.3 kW to 19.2 kW): Up to $5,000 per connector
- DC Fast Chargers (20 kW and above): Up to $100,000 per charger
- Learn how municipalities, utilities, and not-for-profits can apply

Canada Public Transit Fund & Green Inclusive Buildings

- The Canada Public Transit Fund has been announced. There are three streams:
- Metro-Region Agreements (Open for EOI)
- Baseline Funding (Open for EOI)
- Targeted Funding [Comprised of the current Zero Emission Transit Fund (Open), Rural Transit Solutions Fund (Open) and Active Transportation Fund]
- Green and Inclusive Community Buildings Program has re-opened.
- Information sessions available.
- The governments of Canada and Nova Scotia have finalized a new Canada Community-Building Fund agreement. $318 million in allocation-based funding for communities over the next five years.

- National Anti-Racism Fund, Event and Youth Initiative Grant is open.
